My office is located in the historic Old Central School in Grand Rapids, MN. I also travel all over Minnesota (travel fees apply 10+ miles outside of Grand Rapids).

Session Fees are $159/$269/$429, depending on the type of session you choose. Prints and digital files are purchased separately, with packages starting at $699. Canvas Wall Portraits start at $250. Storyboards (aka collages) are far and away my most popular product! They are a great way to document this huge milestone and to display your favorite pictures in one place.

After you’ve decided to work with me, give me a call to book a pre-session consultation. At that point, we’ll select a session date, discuss locations, and look at product options. This is also when I collect the session fee, which officially reserves your session date.

Whatever those words mean to you. Be creative and be yourself. Feel free to text me pictures and ask questions about specific outfits. I can also hook you up with a personal shopper, if you want.

Good questions! Clothing, hair, make-up, accessorizing – these are all reflections of you and help portray your personality.

Clothing: I recommend one traditional outfit (i.e. something you might wear to a nice restaurant or special event), one casual outfit (i.e. your best-looking school outfit), and one trendy outfit (i.e. something you might wear on a casual date or that outfit you fell in love with at the store). Still unsure of what to wear? Feel free to text me pictures and ask questions about specific outfits – I’m here to help and can give you an idea of what photographs well. I can even hook you up with a personal shopper if you want to go that route!

Hair and make-up: Hair should be styled in a way that doesn’t block your beautiful face … and that doesn’t look like you were running late to your photo session (haha!). Make-up should be applied slightly heavier than normal to really shine on camera but should still reflect your style and typical look – i.e. if you normally don’t wear any lipstick, don’t bring your best friend’s hot pink lipstick to try out!

Many clients do their own hair and make-up but it can also be super fun to have your hair and makeup done professionally. The staff at True North Salon and Spa are fabulous! Let me know if you’d like me to book an appointment for you before your session.

Approximately two weeks after the shoot, I’ll contact you and your parents to schedule your in-person ordering session. I’ll also send you a link to your proofs, the moment you’ve been waiting for! The ordering session is where you’ll choose your favorite images, products, and digital files. From Instagram pics to wall portraits, you can pick-and-choose to get exactly what you want. I accept credit cards and offer payment plans.

A light retouching is included for preliminary proofs. A full edit is done on all photographs ordered.

Digital files are available for purchase once a collection is purchased. They include a print release, which allows you to print for personal use. I also include a PDF with tips for printing and some recommended photo labs. Contact me to find out more. (218) 259-2765 or janna.salmela@gmail.com
