Senior Spotlight {Lily | Hibbing High School}
Lily's session was fun because we found a million different picture spots all in the same location. Her 2 hour session flew by as we walked all over Ruttger's Sugar Lake Lodge. It's so gorgeous out there between the lodge, lake, flower beds and wild flowers. But my absolute favorite part was hanging out with Lily and her mom.
Taking someone's pictures is an intimate process and I love connecting with my clients in that way. That connection is an important part to capturing the beautiful images that moms & other family members will treasure for many years. Our seniors will move on with life and the only thing we have to remember those years are pictures. That's why I'm so passionate about printing and displaying our images. They are as important as artwork... and maybe more priceless.
Congratulations Lily! Love, Janna
Q: What is your favorite thing to do outdoors? A: I love running through and exploring the woods. Finding connections to intricate details in rivers/plants/trees has been therapeutic for me while physical distancing. Sunshine is the best!
Q: Tell me about a personal achievement that makes you proud. A: A personal achievement that makes me proud today is: Reflecting back on times in my life that were very difficult. Overcoming unexpected diversity with grace and dignity (with help from my pals) proved to always be a character- building, learning experience.
Q: If you could meet anyone from history, who would you meet and what would you ask them? A: Martian Luther King Jr. I admire his role in history a lot, and would love to hear a speech of his in person. I’m not sure what I would ask him.
Q: What’s something your father or mother has taught you? A: My mom taught me to always make sure the knife I’m cutting tomatoes with is sharp. My dad taught me how to ride a dirt bike. Both have very helpful and heartfelt wisdom for me almost anytime I ask. I’m super thankful for that.
Q: What's something you'll miss about high school? A: I’m going to miss running track and singing with the Northern Lights Choir. I’ll miss most people (staff, coaches, parents, teammates and classmates), even if we aren’t good pals, each individual has been a character in my story for most of my life. They’re all unique and bring diverse traits/entertainment/ideas to the table.
Q: Who makes you laugh more than anyone? A: Most all of my friends are well-trained at making me laugh.
Q: What superpower would you most like to have? A: Unlimited knowledge/ remembrance of everything I learn.
