Senior Spotlight {Emma | La Follette High School}
Emma lives in Madison, WI but came to Grand Rapids for her senior pictures! I love bringing out-of-towners to all my favorite local spots because they aren't tired of seeing them. Ha! Emma is so sweet and a natural beauty with an easy laugh. She made the session relaxed and fun!
I want to say to all the 2020 graduates, COVID-19 may have taken away a lot of your senior year but you are a resilient, strong group of young adults and you will rise even higher because of it. As a mom of a 2020 senior, know that we searching for new ways to celebrate and shout from the rooftops how proud of you we are.
With all my love, Janna

Q: We’re going through some crazy times right now. What does your routine look like these days while you have to stay at home? A: I run, read, eat, talk on the phone, and watch movies. Whatever I can do outside I do on the deck but those rainy days trapped inside are filled with lots of time catching up on movies.
Q: Tell me about a personal achievement that makes you proud. A: I ran a marathon in 2018 and although it was difficult and there were tears, as soon as I finished I wanted to do another one.
Q: What is your favorite childhood memory? A: Getting together with family in the summer and spending time at the lake.
Q: What’s the best thing about your high school? A: All the amazing people I got to meet and the positive community that we built together through learning and through extracurriculars.
Q: If you could go to school in a foreign country, which country would you pick? A: Italy, so I could hopefully learn to speak Italian.
Q: What was your first job, and what did you like about it? A: An after summer school program leader. I loved getting to work with kindergarteners and first graders and taking on each day with all those kids by my side.
